Ok…. So Bareburger has become a firm favourite of my beloved’s and mine – it’s the perfect food to nourish our bodies after working all day long on some very exciting projects! 💫🙏🏻 All food is organically grown and clean as clean can be 👌🏻 Aside from the actual food-food, I love their condiments: ketchup and yellow mustard – both made with Continue Reading…

Don’t Quit Sugar!

August 3, 2016

SHUGUH! 🌟 Not as bad as you would think – yes, I still think the highly processed white stuff is the devil 😈 but I since becoming a Natural Foods Chef, I have learnt SO many new things about other, natural varieties you can use to sweeten it up! Bottom line: keep it real, raw and organic. And try to use it in minimal amounts ’cause you’re sweet enough already!!

Some of my fav ‘shuguhs’ to use include: 100% organic maple crystals, coconut crystals, organic brown sugar: I avoid anything white or highly processed, made from weird stuff that doesn’t seem ‘right’. Go with your gut – you know what works for you and what doesn’t! 😘

Today’s recipe is pretty simple… All you need is your body + the outdoors to receive a a HUGE hit of energy and what I like to call ‘Vitamin G’ (which stands for ‘grounding’, also known as ‘earthing) 🌿🍂🌾 What is grounding/earthing? Continue Reading…

Does anyone else read during breakfast? I feel like books feed me as much a food…a side dish to my smoothie bowl! 📚🍴 Re-visiting an oldie but a goodie today, a must-have book for any bookshelf 👌🏻 In fact, anything Dr Christiane Northrup has written is a must-have…I cannot begin to tell you how much I have learnt about myself and my body thanks to her 🙏🏻🙌🏻

Here’s just one pearl of wisdom from this book that really resonates with me…. Continue Reading…

Is Your Sunscreen Safe?

July 19, 2016

Bravo goes to Chef Pete Evans for speaking up about sunscreen not being ‘all that’ 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Once again, I read Pete’s copped criticism, mostly half-hearted news items with poor punctuation and misinformation 😴💤 I find it quite comical to be honest, when the major news channels blow information out of proportion…but it also does concern me when I see so many people believing what they read/hear/see in the media, what the?

Healthy Noodle Alternative: Beancurd

July 17, 2016

Beancurd noodles… 🙏🏻 Nothing but organic soybean and water was used to create this delicious noodle substitute 👌🏻 Soy beans (the organic kind) provide the body with great protein and nutrients – gluten, sugar and preservative free – definitely a must-try of you want noodles without a side of bloating and digestive discomfort often caused by preservatives and gluten added to traditional pasta or cous cous.
I like to pair these noodles with freshly steamed broccoli, cauliflower and peas + a little full fat coconut milk mixed with turmeric, garlic and cumin powder for a savoury, health supportive, tasty meal 🌟🌱👌🏻

Easy Whole Foods Breakfast

July 16, 2016

It’s a late n’ lazy breakfast for my beloved and I today… More of a brunch situation to be honest, starting with some sautéed butternut squash noodles and beetroot cous cous 💗 I then added some steamed organic broccoli for a good dose of plant protein 👌🏻 I’ll top this off with some roasted pumpkin seeds (for an extra dose of plant protein) with lashings of avocado oil – because without healthy fats, our bodies won’t be able to absorb and assimilate all the plant-based, nutrient-rich goodness: healthy fats are your friends!
