Through my love of cooking, I want to inspire you to prepare, eat and enjoy real food – not stuff that comes in packets with unpronounceable names… And as a yoga instructor I’m learning all about balance in life and I’d love you to join me on this journey of discovery.

I once was an international fashion and entertainment PR professional who loved life but not as much as I do now.
Throw in a couple of mobile phones, a very demanding job and long hours, you could say I came to the swift conclusion that corporate life just wasn’t for me. I get restless legs if I sit for too long, plus I don’t enjoy being indoors when it’s sunny outside!
I’ve done the fulltime work thing but now I’m going it alone! Well…technically, I’m not alone – throw in two supportive parents, one very talented husband and a little longhaired Chihuahua and there you have it: my world, my life.
But it doesn’t end there folks, oh no! This is just the beginning!
After many years of working in an office and working out at the gym, my body began to crumble… Little by little to begin with, then a whole lot at once. My adrenals gave up from over-exercising and my mind was at its wits end from all the food noise in my head. What happened next is pretty textbook…
My body grew weak and frail. I literally became half the person I used to be.
It wasn’t until I found yoga, learnt how to breathe and surrounded myself with friends and family who helped build the new me, that little by little I became whole again.
Ok, so I know that sounds a bit sappy, I promise I won’t break out in song. Bottom line is that life can get pretty crazy for all of us sometimes. We make decisions that don’t always work out the way we intended them to and most of us put ourselves last for the sake of others. This is not the way to live a happy, healthy life.
Fast forward a couple of years through some life-changing health and wellbeing study, as well as focused healing with real foods and here we arrive at the new Danielle Shine – a girl who loves life and the opportunity to live a new day every day.
Look, Life can be challenging, of course it isn’t all rainbows and butterflies, but it is through these challenges that we learn, and so I want to write to you and for you. I want to learn as much as I can on my quest to becoming a Natural Foods Chef as well as become the best possible version of me. I’m still a work in progress, but if you’ll have me, then I’d love to be friends.
I started this blog to document my journey. It will house a lot of cooking, some yoga and whole lotta Danielle Shine love.
